Over the years Doctor Santamaria has explored all branches of maxillo-facial surgery, by performing over 300 maxillo-facial major surgical procedures as team leader,:
Neck Dissections.
Complex Oncologic Demolitive Surgery of the Head and Neck.
Complex Reconstructions of the Head and Neck (micro-vascular free flaps and pedicled flaps)
Doctor Santamaria’s activity is mainly focused on the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck malignancies.
He is also regularly involved in multidisciplinary surgical operations in the field of traumatology emergency, surgical management of malformations and oncologic surgery (Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Plastic Surgery).
Doctor Santamaria was responsible of the Outpatients Department for the diagnosis and treatment of oncologic oro-cranio-facial diseases at the Maxillo-Facial Surgery Unit, University Hospital “G. Martino”, Messina, Italy.
Right now Doctor Santamaria works in private practice for the Santamaria’s Associate Medical Center (Ophthalmology&Maxillofacial surgery) in Rome and he is external consultant in several private dental clinic in center and south Italy. He is also referee for the Rome American Hospital and Centro DiagnosticoSPA of Rome.
